When the Stromberg Carburetor Company ordered a case of Gibbs Brand for their workshops, we decided to make a long-overdue visit to their facility in Suffolk.
There’s not much we can add to what’s already been said about their now legendary carbs, other than to say it was comforting to see that they are all still hand-built on site; a rare thing these days!
What we also weren’t expecting was to get a look at the prototype of their latest product; an all-new, beautifully engineered front-mount Flat-Head Distributor. It’s similar in appearance to an original unit,(it even takes a standard cap) but has electronic internals for reliability. Its compact size will also be a great help in tight engine bays. Keep an eye on their website for more details: www.stromberg-97.co.uk
The final surprise of the day was to get a tour of a little known off-shoot of the company; their bespoke fabrication shop where they have some very cool projects underway…
Thanks Clive and Rick for a great visit!
