Last weekend I took my precious 1932 Ford hot rod to Pendine Sands in Wales for the annual speed trials. http://www.vhra.co.uk/VHRA/Pendine_Sands.html Prior to the event I used Gibbs to protect the underside of the car from corrosion from salt water and sand on the beach and I’m glad to say that after a 600 mile round-trip and two days of racing on the beach all that was needed was a quick hose off and the car was as good as new.

The prize of a Gibbs Brand jacket for the fastest car of the day went to Neil Bennett in his Batten’s Special, running an impressive 114.56 mph. (Batten’s Special was built in 1935 as a Brooklands sports/racer. It features a much modified 1932 Ford V8 chassis and a highly tuned V8 engine. The supercharger is a later addition. This road-legal car has continuous competition history since built. It has been in Neil’s ownership for almost forty years.)
Chris Easton will be on hand with the Gibbs Shelby Mustang to help raise money at the Little Havens Petrol-Fest The exiting family track-day fundraiser allows members of the public a chance to ride in a selection of exotic and classic cars with all money raised going to LittleHavens Children’s Hospice.
The fun-packed day also includes a classic car show, bmx stunt riders,fair rides and refereshments.
